Our new Photo Collection (shown below) expands a feature that you may not be familiar with. By way of background, PE Pro is designed to work in layers. This means that if you have an object like an image and then a text box with text inside, the text box must be in front or on top of the image in order for the text to show. The tool used to control these layers is the icon referred to as the Arrange Objects icon  (on the left hand tool bar). This icon is a fly-out menu that has additional options once you click on it. These options will apply to any selected object. (NOTE: The object you want to control must be selected first.) Your options are to push this selected object in front  of all other objects,
push to the back  of all other objects, push to |
the back by one layer  , or push to the front by one layer .
Our new Photo Collection artwork uses a new feature in PE where we provide designated spaces for photos to be added into the actual artwork! When you see it happen, it's like MAGIC!

Take a photo of Jason who's turning 3 and put him in the window of a train on the card. With this new collection, the steps are very simple. You just have to use the Arrange Objects icon. Insert an image as normal, using the Insert Image icon  . Browse for your image in its location and follow the OK prompts to link it to your document. |
Position picture over designated area. You may need to resize your picture using the Enlarge/Reduce Object button  or crop it to a smaller size depending on the photo and the space in the product you are adding to. Once you think you have the photo positioned and sized correctly, you simply need to "push" the photo to the back of the card. The photo will pop back behind the frame and become part of the artwork.
If you still need to modify your photo for any reason, you can push it to the front to access it. To do this, click on the Object List icon  in the bottom right corner of PE. Then scroll over the items listed until the photo is outlined in grey. Then push it to the front to modify. It really is that simple!
