Using Free Images
PE PRO includes several borders, decorative accents, fonts and other designs elements to help you make a wide range of custom products and designs. This creative tip is designed to show you several features built in to PE PRO that you may not have known about. There are other ways to do some of the things we are showing you, but we wanted to introduce you to functions and features so that you can use them on your own designs.
A Photo Birth Announcement

Setting up the card
. 1) Click on the New Document icon

and then on the Image Library Card icon

, and click Browse

  . 2) Open the PE Blank Templates folder, select the Medium Card Vertical template (5"x7") and click Open

  . 3) Right click on the card, click Layout and set your left, right, top and bottom margins all to 0.50

  . 4) Insert a text box using this icon

and select Garamond Nova font, 14 pt. and black color, click OK

Add desired text
. 5) Position text box where desired, left click inside and enter text - Can use the black bullets on the edges to make it wider

. 6) Use Character Map

to insert an icon or divider using one of our divider or icon fonts. (The separator in this example comes from our CBD Decorative Dividers font. Right click on the icons to enlarge, left click to insert between lines

Inserting and adjusting the photo image
. 7) In page mode, insert a picture using this icon

and click Browse

  . 8) Select your file from the location it was saved, click Open and then click OK

  . 9) To change the color of the photo -- in our example, we "tinted" -- right click on the picture and select Special Attributes

  . 10) Click on the Tint tab, check Apply Gray Scale and click OK

  . 11) Click and drag your picture to change its position. Another feature can mask out parts of the photo, or create a frame for the photo, if needed

  . 12) Change size using the black bullets on the sides

Inserting additional text boxes over image
  . 13) Add more text boxes by using the Textbox icon

. 14) Select CBD Kenmore, 72 pt. and red color, position over your picture and click inside to type desired text.

. 15) For best results, print on our 5x7 photo paper

Adjust anything in the announcement as desired. You have now created a special momento as a birth announcement using several of the basic tools and built in features of PE PRO.
